GRYPHON
"A combination of two noble animals, the lion and the eagle, gryphons are no less animal-like than their forebears. They group in prides, but go off on their own away to nest and raise their young. To my experience, they don't seem to have aggressive tempers or malicious intent. Usually if you encounter one on your travels, all it will cost you to get past is a few bits of dried meat and a few minutes to skirt the immediate area. Still, I've heard tales from others that describe how ruthless an angry gryphon can become and it makes me glad that I always keep an extra share of jerky in my pack during long overland trips."
