HOP DEVIL

"In areas with a lot of wheat and hop stalks, sometimes you may run across what has been called a "Hop Devil". No one knows exactly where they come from, but in times of drought or blight, the withered stalks sometimes gain a life of their own and start walking around. Dull-witted and mischievous, these little bundles of joy are known to destroy entire fields and drive livestock away for miles. The only way to put an end to the trouble of a hop devil is to destroy the tainted stalk body. Without a form to animate, the evil force inside it will blow away on the wind."
