ROT GUARDIAN

"When the larvae of a rot worm lord enter a fresh corpse, they immediately begin devouring it from the inside out until only a husk remains. Once enough larvae have bred and the skin is full to bursting with tiny, squirming grubs, it rises to protect the rot lord that spawned it. Thus is a rot guardian "born". Secretions from the worms change the skin's texture to a leathery hardness and toughen the hands into club-like fists. Rot guardians don't feel pain and you pretty well just have to bash, slash or burn until there's nothing left to hold them together."
